Delbert "Jack" RobinsonFebruary 14, 1929 ~ October 13, 2017 (age 88)
Delbert Jackson “Jack” Robinson, age 88, of Bradenton, FL passed away peacefully at home Friday, October 13, 2017.
Born February 14, 1929 in Warrensburg, MO to Theodore Jackson Robinson and Beatrice Elizabeth (Hughes) Robinson, he lived in Kansas City, MO from the age of 16 until he retired and moved to FL in 1984.
Jack worked for Trans World Airlines for more than 35 years where, most recently, he was an avionics technician. He was the scoutmaster of Troop 80 in the 1960s and '70s and Sachem in the Tribe of Mic – O – Say. He loved poetry and wrote more than 500 poems. He loved fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed throwing horseshoes in his backyard. Many friends were made at the DeSoto Mall in Bradenton where he would walk, drink coffee, distribute his self-published poems and discuss life.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Ban) Robinson and daughter Theresa Robinson. He is survived by his daughter Mary C. Farris, son Daniel J. Robinson and his wife Roberta, son John T. Robinson and son Peter F. Robinson; grandchildren Christopher Farris, Carolyn Farris, Robyn Rhoden, Alyce Mitchell; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6 – 8PM. Services on Saturday, October 21, 2017 starting at 10AM at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th St, KCMO, 64133. Followed by burial at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, KCMO, 64138.
