Delores Marie (Watson) MansonJune 10, 1939 ~ October 17, 2017 (age 78)
Delores Marie Manson, known to family and friends as "Dee," passed away on October 17, 2017 at the age of 78. She was born in Moshannon, Pennsylvania to Carl M. Watson and Hedvig G. Isaacson. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, John C. "Jack" Manson, and her sons, Jeff Goethe (Jeannie) and Kirk Goethe (Penny) all of Bradenton, as well as 10 grandchildren (Christine, Ryan, Alex, Samantha, Andy, Hanna, Emily, Jay, Sara, and Mikey) and 10 great-grandchildren (Hailey, Chloe, Kara, Rylynn, Hope, Alena, Adeline, Nico, Julia, and Hunter). She is also survived by her brothers, Douglas (Sandy) and Dennis (Helen) of Moshannon, Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her brother, Dale (Joyce).
Dee worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C. after high school and then in the travel industry until her retirement. In retirement, she found great joy in serving others as a volunteer at Manatee Memorial Hospital for over 24 years, logging thousands of hours of service. She spent countless hours volunteering or watching from the sidelines and bleachers as her sons participated in various sports through the DeSoto Boys Club, Manatee County Youth Football League, and Manatee High School. She was a loyal fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team and was a regular at the Pittsburgh Pirates spring training games.
Dee and Jack enjoyed many adventures together, traveling the world, socializing with friends, and spending time with their blended family that included a total of 7 children, 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, October 19th at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 20th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1220 15th St. W., Bradenton, FL.
