Louise Chambliss (Chambliss) Dykes

October 20, 1928 ~ July 8, 2017 (age 88)

Louise Chambliss Dykes was born on October 20, 1928 to Eugene Carwin Chambliss and Sarah Louise Kendrick Chambliss in Columbus, Georgia.  Louise passed away peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2017.

She attended Wynnton Elementary and Columbus High School.  Louise attended one year at Auburn University before returning back to Columbus.  On July 30, 1949, Louise married her true love, Hugh Emmett Dykes.  They were married for 61 years when Hugh passed away in 2010.

Hugh and Louise moved to Bradenton in 1956, when Hugh transferred to The Bradenton Herald.  Louise worked at Montgomery Roberts in the 1960s.  She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Hugh and brother, Gene Chambliss.

She is survived by her daughter Sally Cario (Frank), Spring, Texas and son Emmett Dykes, Bradenton, Florida.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matt Cario (Meredith), Puyallup, Washington; Katie Dykes Hamm (Wes), Seminole, Florida; Kelly Cario Hernandez (Matt), Spring, Texas; Christine Lynn Noriega (Aaron), Spring, Texas; Carin Dykes Hall (Danny), Palmetto, Florida; Daniel Dykes (Sarah), Cordova, Tennessee; and Tessa Dykes, Josey Dykes and Robert Dykes, all from Bradenton, Florida.  Louise had 12 great-grandchildren, Natalia and Leah Cario, Puyallup, Washington; Emma and Ava Hamm, Seminole, Florida; Olivia, Clara and Jackson Hernandez, Spring, Texas; Cadyn and Harper Noriega, Spring, Texas; Owen, Braden and Callen Hall, Palmetto, Florida.  Other surviving relatives include her brother Ken Chambliss, Clarksville, Georgia; sisters-in-law Helen Peck, Atlanta, Georgia and Martha Chambliss, Atlanta, Georgia; nephews Will Chambliss (Jamie) Raleigh, North Carolina and Jim Peck, Chico, California; Carwin Chambliss, Atlanta, Georgia and Ed Chambliss (Alaina), Los Angeles, California; niece Emily Huntley (Sam) Raleigh, North Carolina; first cousins Becky Yarbourgh, Columbus, Georgia and Tom Kendrick, Midland, Georgia.
