Lawton Parks, born October 31, 1932, is a native Floridian. Born into a family that raised cattle, he grew up helping his grandpa Parley Lawton Carlton work the cattle as a young man. His career also included working for the Manatee County School Board as a School Bus Mechanic and retired as Superintendent of Sanitation for the City of Bradenton.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to many.
Lawton and Marty married August 21, 1966 and had 6 children and 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2018 at 6:00 P.M.
Viewing will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, FL 34205. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Myakka Family Worship Center, 33410 Singletary Rd, Myakka City, FL 34251. Graveside to follow at New Zion Cemetery, and there will be a meal at Myakka Family Worship Center following the graveside.
