Lynne Mae Baldwin

June 8, 1925 ~ April 23, 2018 (age 92)

Lynne Mae (Conley) Baldwin, age 92, of Parrish, Florida - formerly a long time resident of Hendersonville, NC - passed away at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital, Sarasota, Florida on Monday, April 23, 2018.  Lynne was born on June 8, 1925 in Penland, North Carolina to Walter Thomas Willis and Ola Mae Conley Willis.

Lynne’s first career was at WBT Radio in Charlotte, NC as Program Analysis Director working with David Brinkley.  She was sent to New York City to study at CBS and loved every aspect of her job.

Lynne married the love of her life, Lt. Col Herman Corbid Baldwin in 1944.  The couple settled in Marion and Old Fort, NC where they began growing their family.  They had two children, Carolyn and Gregory.

Lynne’s second career was as an Air Force wife and mother, moving across the USA and to Japan.

Lynne was a devoted and loving mother.  She was very proud of her family and excited to become a grandmother.  She was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild in May.  Lynne loved the holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.  She would spend hours in the kitchen preparing for her family and company.

Lynne was known for her kindness and compassion to all and for her unwavering love and support for all those dear to her.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Lynne was the beloved wife of the late Herman C. Baldwin, devoted mother of Carolyn Ondrusek and the late Gregory Baldwin, and a loving “Nana” of Derek Ondrusek, Cameron Baldwin and Michael Shellenburger.  She is survived by her sister, Joyce Cannon of Woodstock, IL and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Friends and family will gather at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida on Friday, April 27th for Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  She will be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery alongside her husband.
