Robert Anthony Homa, age 79, of Bradenton, Florida, born June 3, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on November 2, 2018.
Robert was predeceased by his father Andrew Francis Homa, his mother Elizabeth Juchniewicz Homa and his brother Andrew Dennis Homa. Robert is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Lynne Houghton Homa; sister-in-law Winifred Homa; brother-in-law Rich Houghton; sister-in-law Diane Houghton; nieces Celeste Restivo, Winifred Brown, Denise Homa, Jessica Steimel, Heather Compito, Kim Martin, and Danielle Edwards; nephew Ryan Houghton; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Robert and Lynne recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. Robert also leaves behind his loving dog, Murphy, a rescued/adopted YorkiePoo. Robert and Lynne have rescued/adopted 7 dogs during their years married.
Robert served in the U.S. Army, was stationed in Germany and was a member of the American Legion, Post 24 for 26 years. Robert worked for FDOT in Sarasota for 15 years and retired from there.
Family and friends can pay their respects at the Memorial Mass celebrating Robert's life on Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church located at 2850 75th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34209. A luncheon will follow at 11:30 at the American Legion Kirby Stewart Post 24, 2000 75th St W, Bradenton, FL 34209.
