Dear Friends and Family- Wilhelm “Bill” Palmen Sr., 72, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away after a lingering illness. Bill is survived by his wife, Rosa, and his two children, Wilhelm Palmen Jr. and Diana Nucci. He also left behind five siblings: Jan, Emelie, Maria, Mathis and Albert. He was the eldest offspring of the late Mathias and Edith Palmen.
As a child, Bill grew up the Netherlands and later migrated to the United States in 1960. At age twenty-two he was drafted into the Armed Forces where he excelled as Staff Sergeant and earned several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter, and Good Conduct Medal. Though he took pride in serving his country, the most honorable job he strove to accomplish was being a good father to his children Diana and Billy.
Today, Bill leaves behind a wonderful family and a wonderful wife who will always remember him by his sense of responsibility and sense of humor. He will be remembered by his infectious smile, his willingness to fight, and his immense heart to live life to its full potential.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida.
