William P. Cress was born in Piqua, Ohio on October 18, 1956. William was a Warrior for Christ who entered the kingdom of heaven on August 27, 2018. William loved God, his family and boxing. His motto was never quit and fight until the end. He was a funny, loving, and selfless man who loved to train and preach the word of God. William loved his wife and children immensely which was evident to everyone who knew him!! He was an elder at Church On The Rock where he faithfully served for almost 28 years. William is survived by his wife of 24 years Rosana, and their three children Spirit (future son-in-law Cody Davidson), Joshua and Isaiah. He is also survived by his sisters Sheryl (husband Joe) and Caryn (husband George). He was known by his nephews and nieces (Jason, Jereme, Silas, Halleigh, Zechariah) as uncle Willy, to the boxing world as Billy Cress, to others William or coach Cress, to his wife honey and to his children daddy. But what he will be remembered most for his unwavering faith, his abundant love, and his will to fight until the end. A memorial service will be held in William’s honor at Church On The Rock, 1401 14th Ave. W., in Palmetto, FL on Saturday, September 8th at 11:00 am.
