Phyllis “Nadine” Meyers born on June 26, 1936, passed into the arms of Jesus on February 19, 2020 at the age of 83 in Bradenton, Florida. Born in Kokomo, Indiana as the only child of Raymond and Louise (Cook) Meyers, she had a happy childhood on the farm becoming the beloved stepdaughter of John Thomas Grecu. She graduated as a Kokomo Wildcat in 1954 and was an avid swimmer and lifeguard. She attended the Methodist Hospital school of nursing, earning her RN in 1957. On September 21, 1956 , she married Victor D. Hammer Jr. He preceded her in death. They had 5 children, Victor (Patsy) Hammer III; Valerie (Steve) Kennedy; Vanessa (Richard) Krasucki; Veronica (John) Brooks, and Vincent Hammer who preceded her in death. She is survived by 19 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. She dedicated her life to love her family. She gave herself to the service of nursing at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak Michigan, Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, and Sarasota Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Florida, where she served as church secretary. A private visitation was held by the family on February 21,2020 at Griffith Cline funeral Home. A celebration of life is planned for June 27, 2020 at Pittsboro Baptist Church in Pittsboro, Indiana from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. All Family and Friends are invited to attend. Her final resting place will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Indiana near the love of her life.
