Obituary of Jacqueline S. Lusby

     Jacqueline S. Lusby, 86, of Bradenton, Florida made her way to heaven on March 8, 2024. Jackie was born May 2, 1937, in Athens, Ohio.  She was a devoted Christian who treasured her friends and family.

She held many titles within her professional career including nurse, bus driver, and her most prominent "Boss Lady" of the Sarasota Schools Transportation Dept.  This is where her love for special needs children blossomed. Her favorite pastimes were volunteering with the special needs community and the Manatee Sheriff’s Mounted Posse.  She left a lasting impact on those involved in her life.

She is survived by her children Joan Fultz, Jane (Robert) Jefferson, Jill Woodham, Charlene (Andy) Bass, Donald Lusby, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, George S. Lusby; parents, Carl and Waneta Zeis; her sister, Judith Sultzman; sons-in-law Michael Woodham I and Terry Fultz Sr.

Services for Jackie will be held March 23, 2024, 10:00 AM at Verna Bethany Baptist Church, 26604 State Road 64 East, Myakka City, Florida 34251. Please join the family after graveside services for pastries and coffee.
